India Arie ‘Just Do You’ Single Review

Leave it to India Arie to give an explosive second single off the hit album SongVersation, a record that uplifts, encourages, and makes you want to jump up, scream, shout, shimmy and shake all over the streets care free with her new single “Just Do You”. The title of the track is exactly what the song embodies. This inspirational track is all about self empowerment.

“I heard a voice that told me, I’m essential, how all my fears are limiting my potential…”

India Arie opens the song with core vocals that will certainly make your heart want to scream. Her low tones are essential to her brand as an artist. Not even 10 secs into the song and already you notice her vocal artistry. Before the lyrics even start, you want more!

The production is amazing, the bass is bumping and it’s easy on the 1s and 2s. Some would call this good ol’ fashion cookout music, which is a huge part of the Afrikan culture in America.

“So whatchu waiting on? Who you waiting for? If you don’t take a chance you’ll never know what’s in store… Just do you! somebody’s got to be a star! Just do you! Somebody’s got to raise the bar…”

This song is a certified hit, if I do say so myself, it’s radio friendly, feel-good music that makes you want to get in your car and head out to the beach, or if you’re a work-a-holic going to work, you feel good on your way to “JUST DO YOU” or a teacher, a policemen, a college-student, this song is for everyone!

Just when you think it’s over the song changes up and uplifts your spirit even more and will surely have you embarrassing yourself singing loudly, probably off key, with your headphones in shouting;

“If you create the game, then you create the rules, and if you just be you, there’s no way you can loose…”

She even leaves some space for a good ol’ fashion two step!!!! This song is amazing check it out exclusively at : ESSENCE ONLINE
