Michael B. Jordan

Fruitvale Station Starring Michael B. Jordan And Why We Must Support

Fruitvale Station stars the talented, on the rise to superstardom, actor Michael B. Jordan. Many of you may not know who he is, but you’ve seen his work. Michael starred as Jamal in his first hit featured film starring Keanu Reeves, HardBall. He starred in the historic film RedTails, and he is also well known from his reoccuring role(s) on HBO’s The Wire, All My Children, Friday Night Lights, and Parenthood. This movie is a must see.

Fruitvale Station is an independent drama written and directed by Ryan Coogler, and
produced by no other than the Academy Award winning Forest Whitaker. The film debuted at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and took home two awards; The Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for Dramatic film in the US.

This film is based on a true story. We here at The B.L.A.C.K Media support Brown Individuals making a change and this is right up our alley. Michael B. Jordan is a native of my hometown, Newark, New Jersey and we both graduated from the same high school, so for me it is an honor to see this young brown brother succeeding in what he set out to do. I’ve only met Michael a few times in the past, but I grew a close relationship with his mother Ms. Jordan while attending Arts High School, the nations first performing arts high school. From what I experienced from Michael in his other roles on television and from what I know about the genius Forest Whitaker, and Academy Award winning Octavia Spencer, and Chad Michael Murray and all of the stars in this film, I know this film will be LEGENDARY.

The film is about a young man named Oscar Grant, 22 years old from the bay area of San Francisco. The story follows Oscar on the last day of his life, and it chronicles the moments before, highlighting what probably would’ve been left in the dark if not for Ryan Coogler and the amazing people working on this project. The unfortunate story sheds light on the horrible event where Oscar Grant was shot and killed by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) police the morning of New Years day 2009.

This movie is a MUST SEE.
