Exciting news for the Golden Globes, actors, directors, and writers of colour all over the world! Next years Golden Globes will be nail biting as Ava DuVernay takes history as the first Afrikan American woman to be a Best Director Golden Globe nominee! Congrats are in order for her and her debut film “Selma” for also receiving best motion picture with John Legend and Common also nominated for the song “Glory” featured in “Selma”. Along with Ava comes the most talented young star Hollywood has ever seen! Who? Quvenzhané Wallis! This talented actress is the youngest actress in the World to have an Academy Award nomination, and now she is showing her acting/singing chops as “Annie” in the remake also starring Jamie Foxx for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for. And guess what? She’s only 11 years old! Many are calling her the young Viola Davis who is also a shoe in to win in her category for her breath taking performances in the hit tv show “How To Get Away With Murder” as she receives her nomination, rightfully so, best performance by an actress in a television series – drama. I cannot wait to see if they win, I absolutely hope so, who do you think will win?
