The First Afrikan American Director To Have A Barbie Doll
Ava Duvernay is one of Barbies “Sheroes”. After being the first Afrikan American Woman to win a Sundance Award for Best Director, the first to be nominated for a Golden Globe and the first to be nominated for an Academy Award for best director, I guess Barbie enjoyed this trend she’s set for herself, among other things Im sure, and added another first for the screenwriter and director. Now millions of little girls and boys will be able to see themselves in a way that’s never really been done before. A female director, a person of colour, with hair styling from the motherland it’s self!
After fans petitioned to have the doll released before it’s official date, adult collectors bought the doll so fast, it sold out! Just wait until the actual doll is released! Look at how fly this doll looks, and they did an accurate job too!!
