Rutina Wesley, you may know her as Tara from the hit HBO series, True Blood. In 2015 it was announced that groundbreaking director Ava Duvernay would be directing a series for OWN titled “Queen Sugar” that Oprah herself will be recurring in. Now the star of the show has been announced and along with Oprah, Rutina Wesley leads “Queen Sugar” written and co-directed by Ava as one of OWN’s first original series. I’m super excited for this.

The Juilliard graduate has a powerful presence. With arms of steel and the body of a trained dancer, Rutina Wesley is the perfect star for any role, “Queen Sugar” is;
