High levels of lead was found in about 30 Newark Nj schools which caused the schools to shut down their water supply and use alternative methods for drinking water and using water for food. The Department of Environmental Protection found these high levels and they acted immediately. Unfortunately parents were delayed in knowing about this incident, but the city of Newark is acting fast to fix the issue. LEAD INFO

A plan has been submitted to the federal government to test the water to make sure the levels aren’t higher than they fear. To all my home town folks its important you know what happens when you encounter lead in your drinking water, not to scare you, but to keep you informed:

Newark New Jersey is doing everything they can to fix the problems at the school, they also report; “we received assurance this was not high-level emergency nature that a day would make,” – Christopher Cerf Superintendent of Newark Public Schools.
