The 2017 Golden Globe Noms

It’s award season, and the Golden Globe nominations have been announced! Unexpected nominations from the new tv comedies “ATLANTA” and “INSECURE” has social media in a buzz. Issa Rae and Donald Glover are presenting what many are calling the “New Black”, which is just the old Black that’s never been shown on television before, you know full thoughts, smart, sexy, common issues… life.

Added with the amazing performance by Mahershala Ali in the film “Moonlight”, and the deserved nominations to Tracee Ellis Ross for “Blackish”, Octavia Spencer for “Hidden Figures”, Viola Davis and Denzel Washington for “FENCES” it appears inclusion is present at this years Golden Globes.

While many are saying Taraji P. Henson was snubbed for her performance in “Hidden Figures” and as Cookie from Empire, the fact remains, sometimes you win, sometimes you’re not even nominated, it doesn’t take away from how you believe she performed.

The Golden Globe Awards will air live coast-to-coast on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 8-11 p.m  from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
