Sevyn Streeter, now recognized as just Sevyn, visited HOT97 with Nessa. During the interview the R&B star disclosed that she’d suffered from depression and was truly a girl disrupted. Highlighting this during the interview gave her a different element, many never knew about her.
Considering Sevyn is an accomplished songwriter (Tamar Braxton, Usher, Alicia Keys…), can often be seen turning up, and having fun, you’d think she’d be living a well life. Sevyn’s explanation of depression and real live issues proves yet again, money, fame, and fortune does not promise happiness, and joy.

Depression is nothing to be ashamed about. There are many more people who suffer in silence, much like Streeter, but as Shanti Das put it “Silence The Shame” speak on it, and heal together. She used her album, which debut at number one on the iTunes charts to get through issues of her past. The opening song “Livin” speaks to her struggle on the album.
Having worked with many of her favorites, Sevyn gushed about Faith Evans being in the new music video that’s to come. While fans are awaiting more from the songwriter, who took a long time to release her first album, they can enjoy a vibe so chill with her latest music video “Anything You Want”.
