Watch Chris Brown Reflect On His Abusive Past & Why Reflection Is Needed In Our Culture

Welcome To My Life the Chris Brown documentary was recently released on iTunes and millions have yet to see it. The limited summer theater run was missed by millions of his fans and viewers, but now for 13 dollars anyone can see. In the documentary Chris opens up about abusing Rihanna, a reflection that’s needed in our culture.

“I hit her with a closed fist, I punched her. I busted her lip and when I saw it I was in shock, like ‘F*ck! Why the hell did I hit her like that?’ So, from there she just spit in my face and it enraged me even more. it’s a real-on fight in the car. We’re driving in the street. I’m like ‘Yo, we’re trippin’. What the f*ck? Like, what are we doing?’ She’s trying to grab for my phone to throw it out the window. So, she grabs my nuts, when she [did] that, I bit her arm. Because I was still trying to drive. It was a petty stupid fight.”

A graphic detail of accounts, Chris Brown does not hold back. It’s Important for our culture to see and hear events of this nature because it seldom happens in a society where abuse often happens. Men in particular can learn from this as its often “okay” for Men to speak about, and often physically act on abusing women and people in general. Chris recalling his accounts so graphically sends a message to abusers that its not ok, what you’re doing is absolutely wrong, and hopefully can start change.

Many abusers who do not seek counseling may very well seek Chris Brown as a fan. Chris has tapped into an open dialogue of abuse, which has never really been done before in our culture. Its brave, hard to listen to, but needed. Many eyes will see this, many women too, and hopefully women can find encouragement to understand a toxic relationship isn’t supposed to exist, and get out of it.
