Andra Day stopped by Trevor Noah’s The Daily Show along with Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson to talk about race in amerikkka. After a succinct, truth-filled lesson on what it means to be free in amerikkka from Bryan Stevenson, Andra spoke about her role in creating change from this southern heritage debate about confederacy and race.
Andra Day expressed her thoughts on her role in music activism; “they bring awareness to what’s going on. You can’t effect change without knowing what’s going on”. Both Andra and Bryan are correct when they say knowledge is power. Bryan even went further to explain why we are not free, and won’t be free until we start talking openly about lynchings, abuse, degradation, and more.
