Rap group Migos released a new record via 105.1 featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B called Motorsport. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard two female rappers featured on the same track, although Missy Elliott did release a major collaboration earlier this year. Unfortunately unity amongst Women in rap isn’t a major feature, but having Cardi B, who has a number one record, and Nicki Minaj the reigning Queen for the past 10 years on the same track is epic!

Motorsport as a whole is your basic radio format featuring the overused rap triplets and cadence with very little excitement in the new. However, having Cardi B, who delivered a bossed verse on it, along with Nicki Minaj ending the feature with a bang, adds flare to the record. Since being released via Soundcloud the record received about 300,000 plays in almost 24 hours, which is an indication that fans are just not that interested. Over all it’s a great effort in unity, although rare, and should happen more often, but with a greater ending result.
Even though rap listeners will compare the Motorsport verses against each other, it’s okay to like one and dislike the other without that. Cardi delivered an impressive verse that did not get lost between Migos and Nicki’s and Nicki ended the record well. Although this is a Migos record, I’m sure they’re okay with the fact that most people won’t be talking about them, but the two rap Queens on the record.
