Tiffany Haddish hosts SNL this Saturday 11/11/17 as the first Black Female Comedian to host the coveted show. After Sasheer Zamata left the show, SNL hasn’t really been on the Black radar as far as Black female representation is concerned. Even though their sketches of political news has given them new life, many are still concerned about the lack of diversity on the show. With Tiffany breaking barriers hosting, it’s a win for SNL, hopefully they’ll continue.
This is the year for Tiffany Haddish. With a hit film under her belt (Girls Trip) making over 100 million dollars, her new book deal with the top publishing company Simon and Schuster, her debut comedy special on Show Time, starring in Kevin Harts new project, and now hosting SNL, Tiffany is on fire! After the life she’s had, it’s no wonder through hard work her blessings are raining down on her.
Even though many have mentioned our beautiful mixed sisters and brothers who’ve hosted SNL like Bruno Mars, Maya Rudolf, and Drake, Tiffany is the first Afrikan American, or Black comedian Woman to host. Mixed individuals may or may not identify as Black, as they are of mixed race. They are in fact, people of colour, much like Maya Rudolf daughter of the legendary Minnie Riperton, Maya, in Amerikkka is a Black woman, but Maya is in fact, a beautifully mixed Woman of colour, proudly too. SNL is known for having mostly Whites host the show, and now Tiffany is stepping in as the first Black comedian, and this is what she had to say;
“This Saturday, 11/11 on #SNL!! Can you believe I will be the very #first black female comedian host?!? #SheReady“ – Tiffany Haddish
