Janelle Monae’s new single PYNK is a funky, neo-pyscedelic, hip, pop record that features, yet again, Tessa Thompson, in a very celebratory “pussy power” explosion of pink, fantasy, and love.
PYNK is a stand alone record that is sure to give music listeners what they’ve been longing for: different, creative music that does not sound like anything on the radio. Janelle Monae is the King of creating original sounds regardless if its “radio friendly” or not, she is an original artist who often uses elements of the 80s to create a perfect fusion of today.
Themes of bi-sexuality, sex, love, and power run through Janelle’s recent records, but regardless of her personal sexuality, the importance of inclusion is greater than who someone is rumored to be with.
And for those of you who don’t know, pussy power is the kind of power that, with very little involvement, if any, has been the driving force to starting wars, conquering land, and literally creating the world we live in. Pussy power is so strong that before a Woman even walks into a room, she does first and everyone witnesses the power and fear it for they know its true strength, its purpose, its ability to, without doing much, CONQUER US ALL! 🙂
“PYNK is a brash celebration of creation. self love. sexuality. and pussy power! PYNK is the color that unites us all, for pink is the color found in the deepest and darkest nooks and crannies of humans everywhere… PYNK is where the future is born….”
