Kanye West released his long awaited album “Ye” which is a seven song record incased in a brilliant album cover that reads; “i hate being bi-polar its awesome”.
Kanye West delivered an emotionally driven, lyrically sound, completely personal record about his depression, bi-polar disorder, medication, and things that’s recently happened in the news. While many believe Kanye West said “slavery was a choice”, which he didn’t, many believe his album wouldn’t be good, or in retaliation, decided not to listen to it, however, its a great album.
This is the first time in my life that I’ve ever listened to a full Kanye West album, and its a great album because it’s real, and musically sound.
Even though in “Wouldn’t Leave” he mentions he said slavery was a choice, it was clear he was speaking on what others said about him. The album is worth listening to, and it will spark more conversation, which is important.
