Instagram announced August 28th new updates including how to apply for a blue badge verification within your instagram account. Prior to this announcement there was no application process, and now, its available to all accounts.

Instagram made it super easy to apply by adding Request Verification in your settings, in which each user can submit their instagram handle, and photo id or documentation of sorts to be considered. Even though there’s no guarantee that if you submit you’ll get the coveted blue check mark, this process will hopefully keep Instagram users safer.

There has been a rise of scam accounts, and fake accounts created for many business owners, and companies, this process not only opens it up to people who have large bases, but to people who don’t but still need that verification to help their business along.
