Monday, September 3rd, Nike released the new face of its 30th anniversary Just Do It campaign, Colin Kaepernick with a hard hitting message of sacrifice. The message reads;
“Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything, Just Do It.”
Many white racist, bigots, and overall ignorant white nationalist via social media, some even verified accounts, are outraged and have been posting pictures and videos of them burning, cutting up, and removing NIKE’s iconic symbol from their already bought clothing. Apparently Colin’s peaceful protest against cops/white people killing unarmed Black people by taking a knee is making them upset. It’s laughable!
NIKE has a long standing apparel deal with the NFL, which means Colin’s face, even though the NFL is blocking him from living his dream after his peaceful protest, his Amerikkkan right, will see his face all over their fields and billboards this Football season.
By the way, if you’re a person of colour still watching the NFL, you’re apart of the problem!
Colin Kaepernick did nothing wrong, and he deserves a place in the NFL especially if the only reason he’s being blocked is because of his belief system. Apparently TheBLACKMedia isn’t the only one who thinks so, as Colin’s recent lawsuit against the NFL got pushed through!
All that’s done in the dark, will come to light. Hopefully the minds of the ignorant will change, but until then, let’s enjoy a sweet chuckle from the idiocracy of white folk burning ALREADY BOUGHT NIKE gear.
