India.Arie took to social media to preview her latest single off her upcoming album “Worthy” entitled; “That Magic”, which is out today! Her album “Worthy” will be released February 15th 2019.

Fans were not expecting this random treat from the Grammy award winning songstress. It’s been five years since India.Arie released a full length album (SongVersaton 2013), however, India gave fans, in 2015, an amazing Christmas album, and in 2017 an EP “SongVersation: Medicine”, which was nominated for a 2018 Grammy. In 2016 India gave us “Breathe” a strong anthem for the current times, but fans have been wanting a single from “Worthy”, which is slated to be released this year, since top of last year.
“That Magic” is the first single off the upcoming album “Worthy”, which will feature songs India has been previewing to fans since 2015, including “That Magic” which she debuted at Essence that same year. The build up is worth the wait, some fans are even saying; “Worthy is her best album…” and they haven’t even heard it yet!
“That Magic” is that classic India.Arie sound with the lyrical uplift of Man being dead center. Not too often do we hear songs about men, Black Men in particular, that show them in the light of beauty, strength, intellect, and power, something so exceptional it can only be called Magic! Leave it to India.Arie to give Black folks many songs to sing about Men including, but not limited to: “Brown Skin”, “Little Things”, “The Truth”, “Coaco Butter”, and in 2018, “That Magic”!
With an Afrikan inspired caribbean sway coupled with high hitting thunderous claps reminiscent of a power-hit of the snare, “That Magic” is radio ready, and worthy of repeat! Men will love the song as it praises them, and Women will love the song as they can find someone to apply it to. It’s brilliant!
India.Arie also released the cover art of the song, which shows India in a comfy, white cotton pullover dress, with a Donna Summer-esk parted fro looking ravishing. With India being open this time around with her new beau, fans are already wondering if “That Magic” is about him, of which she details on her SongVersation Podcast, that it is, and she’s never felt that kind of magic before.
