Taraji P. Henson stars as Ann Atwater in the 2019 film “The Best Of Enemies” based on the book by Osha Gray Davidson, and based on real events. Taraji P. Henson transforms herself for this role, and could very well score herself another Oscar nomination, and a possible win.

Taraji P. Henson is no newbie when it comes to southern films about race having starred in the 200 million dollar (gross) Block Buster film “Hidden Figures”, “The Best Of Enemies”, although not the same, does have a similarity. “The Best Of Enemies” will bring another Afrikan hero to the forefront, Ann Atwater, much like “Hidden Figures” did for the Black Female mathematicians, and scientist at NSASA.
Even though only the trailer is released, what you can gather from the extended trailer is powerful performances from Taraji and her counterparts, but Taraji is clearly carrying this film.
The movie is about desegregating schools, and unifying, even if only for a short while, to do so. It’s a period piece that deals with race, gender, and class, topics the Afrikan American community is sick of watching in theater, but will proudly watch as this hero gets her just due!
