Creator Courtney Kemp Inks Lionsgate Deal POWER Spinoffs In The Works

Creator of POWER the flagship hit tv drama on Starz inked a deal with Lionsgate and hints to spinoffs of the hit show. Lionsgate Television is the parent company of Starz and their release states Courtney, through her new development deal, will work on projects “inspired by the world of Power”.

Season six of POWER is set to air in 2019, and with Courtney’s new deal, and new spinoffs idea, the buzz and excitement around POWER reached a new height. No word yet on if POWER will end at season six, but after 50 Cent’s character ended, fans are wondering.

It’s rare that Black Female show runner/creators get opportunities to create in television, not only is this major for Courtney, but for actors of colour as well.
