Angela Bassett was the Icon honoree at the 2019 Black Girls Rock awards show on BET. At 61 years old, Angela Bassett’s 30 year career in acting, activism, and inclusiveness has made her a staple in the Black community, a Queen to aspire to.
Angela Bassett, an Ivy League graduated, Mother of two, and Wife (married to actor Courtney B. Vance also an Ivy League graduate) is not only “goals” for being 61 appearing 35, and having the best arms in the business, but she’s also the definition of class. Through much adversity Angela Bassett has always remained poised, well kept, well spoken, and classy, a rare feat now-a-days.
During her speech, Angela thanked all the characters she played in biopics: Katherine Jackson, Tina Turner, and Rosa Parks to name a few. Angela is the Queen of skill, and the Mother of Wakanda, she is and will forever be, an Icon!
