I suppose the short answer to the question; “What Happened To The BLACK Media in 2020?”, is simple…Nothing happened, we are still here. The more complicated answer, well, may take you some time to read.
At the end of 2019, The BLACK Media published a year end review. The year end review cited all the things that 2019, and some of 2018 brought The BLACK Media. At the end we promised to write more, have more interviews, and be more present, but that did not happen. Why?
It was COVID-19! It completely ruined absolutely nothing for The BLACK Media, but since everyone else was saying it, I figured why not. The major reason, and sorry for making you wait this long, but I love the drama, was complete burn out!
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE OVER WORKED:
I run The BLACK Media alone. Yes, alone, I, Tahir Register, Actor, Singer-Songwriter, Photographer, Cinematographer, and business owner, operate an entire company alone.
It means I write the articles (had writers, they all randomly quit without saying they quit, but we’re still cool though), I do every ounce of social media, I research the news and curate the posts, I film the productions, light them, audio engineer them, edit them, direct them, produce them, market and promote them. I also handle the backend of the website as the web developer, so when there’s a problem, like now, I have to fix it.
Currently I am trying to fix a major caching issue that is showing old files and deleted files, also sometimes showing the home page as nothing but hyperlinks!
If you’re exhausted just from reading this, then you understand what it means to be overworked!
But Working Hard Means Making Money:
I suppose in some cases it does, but as an entrepreneur, not so much. I do not make enough money to supply an independent life as of today. I am not ashamed to say, I live with my Mom, who without, my company simply would not exist. If not for our helping each other out, I’d probably be a Resident’s Director having no-time to do what I love to do. I love what I do, and it’s important!
If I made more money, which is the name of the game as an entrepreneur, finding ways to do so, I’d be a lot less worked. More money means hiring qualifying people who can get the job done, delegating tasks, and using my index finger to strongly point while sitting in the Director’s chair at the crew during productions. Ah, the dream!
I do make money, and because I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to Search Engine Optimization, Branding, Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and How to Formulate a Business, I’ve been making money as a Business Consultant, and Social Media Manager. True burn out!
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT IN THE LAST FIVE MONTHS?
The BLACK Media has continuously updated our Instagram Account, which grew over 30K more followers just in the last three months. You can expect a continuation of consistent headlines, posts, memes, original content, Instagram Lives, long form videos, promotions, and entertainment via our Instagram page.
You can also expect more articles! I know I said this in 2019 and under delivered, for the second year in a row, but this time I mean it! This time, I will not place a number on it, I will just write when the wind moves me to. Unlike before, I will allow myself rest until I find my tribe, my team, my group of people who will work for free until I can pay them! Ha!
For those of you who’ve been sticking with The BLACK Media since 2013, thank you! If you’re new, welcome, I promise, this is only the start of a larger dream.
