Lion King 2019 Starring Beyonce, Donald Glover, James Earl Jones & More

Disney took to social media to announce their Lion King 2019 cast starring: Beyonce as Nala, Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi. Speculations for months wondered if Beyonce would actually be apart of this 1994 live action remake, and she will be! Not only is Beyonce joining the cast, but she’s going to be Nala, the coveted main role and love interest of Simba.

This live action film is set to be released July of 2019 as a live action film. Jon Favreau who’s best known as one of Hollywood’s elite actors and directors, will be directing this film. Having directed the almost one billion dollar hit live action film “The Jungle Book”, Jon is the perfect director for the film. Many may remember Jon from the Iron Man films, in which he directed and cameo’d in as Iron Man’s faithful body guard. The cast of Lion 2019, is perfection!


Lion King 2019 Soundtrack:

The 1994 film almost made 1 billion dollars in box office sales, DVD sales, and international sales, and the 2019 remake is said to reach over 1 billion. The soundtrack of the 1994 film sold over 7 million copies worldwide and is some of the most memorable music in the world.

With Beyonce at the lead, it’s sure to bring everyone from toddlers to grown adults out to the theaters, and to buy the soundtrack. As a reminder of how great this live action film will be, check out the clip below from the 1994 classic; “The Circle Of Life”. No word yet on if the cast will record a soundtrack, but with amazing songs from the original, it’d be a miss not to right?
