Grammy winner, Kandi Burruss makes her Broadway debut as Matron “Mama” Morton in Chicago this January 2018. The singer announced via Instagram after Playbill released it’s press release. This is a first for the Xscape singer, who recently reconnected with her group after almost 20 years of being disbanded. Xscape is currently on tour, including Kandi and has released new music, not including Kandi, and maybe this is why.

Matron Mama Morton is a major role in the Broadway hit musical, Chicago. Kandi will join Queen Latifah, Wendy Williams, and Nene Leakes, who’ve also played that role. Kandi Burruss will have an 8 week run on Broadway starting January 15th to March 11th this 2018. Broadway is no easy gig, but after many tours, and years of performing with Xscape, and running her own musical, Kandi will do just fine.
