MoNique, after releasing a video via social media, went on Sway in the Morning to discuss why she called for a Boycott of NETFLIX. With many valid points, MoNique took us behind the scenes, bringing printed documents, standing up for herself, Black Women, and Female Comedians with the disrespect she received. Rightfully so MoNique is owed a public apology by Tyler Perry, Lee Daniels and Oprah Winfrey for allowing a lie to spread, which effected her career.
The lie, which surfaced a few years ago, stated MoNique was difficult to work with, and that she was blackballed. MoNique recalls conversations, and apologies made in private, which have yet to be made public. With the offer she refused from NETFLIX, MoNique believes it all ties together. NETFLIX says they pay comedians based on anticipation, they believe she was worth 500,000. In an effort to make sure comedians after her do not get low-balled, she declined, counter-offered, and was denied.

MoNique is a Queen for this. And while many may not understand what it means to have self worth and value, she does, and I offer to anyone reading, learn your worth. Never let anyone tell you how much youre worth, and if youre worth more than someone is willing, leave. What MoNique is doing will in fact help those that come after her. It takes bravery to secure the bag for those after you, even if you didn’t secure it for yourself. ..
