Halle Berry and Lena Waithe will serve as the executive producers for BET’s 2019 half hour series “Boomerang”, which will be a continuation of the 1992 hit film of the same name. Boomerang the tv series will be a 10 episode arch on BET scheduled to be released in 2019.
In 1992 Halle Berry starred as Angela Lewis in the blockbuster film “Boomerang”, which went on to make over 100 million dollars. It was Halle’s breakout roll and with the film becoming a cult classic, fans of the 1992 crave, and newer viewers who may’ve caught the film later in life, still want to know about Angela Lewis, and Eddie Murphy’s character Marcus Graham.
Lena Waithe and Halle Berry have no intention of making a reboot of the series, instead they want to continue the story. Either way, with Lena being a powerhouse Emmy winner, and Halle being a new director, and of course Academy award winner, the series is sure to be amazing!
