Bill Cosby has been sentenced to 3-10 years in prison. Montgomery County Judge Steven T. O’Neill ruled Tuesday Sept. 25th 2018. Bill Cosby will be sentenced for the drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand back in 2004 at his home in Pennsylvania.
Back in April Bill was found guilty for three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault, and has been waiting for sentencing since. Bill’s attorney’s tried for bail but was denied because the judge felt he was a danger to society. Bill Cosby is 81 years old, going blind, and is physically incapable of being a danger to anyone, and though his money is long, there has been no reports on Bill using it criminally, which adds to the conspiracy that this sentencing bigger than just Bill Cosby.
Bill Cosby is still America’s Dad to many and should remain that way. We cannot erase his historic run in entertainment, and the philanthropy and works Bill has achieved parallel to this case. When your child does something unimaginable, they are still your child, and you love them through it. You punish them, they “serve their time” and they (with your help) come back reformed. Hopefully Bill will do the same.
Even though there’s much speculation around this popular case, what is clear and will hopefully put fear in the hearts of men in power all over the work place, is that Women are no longer staying silent and prison is an option! #TimesUp on unequal treatment, pay, and unequal rights.
Regardless of their image, entertainment, money, philanthropy, or important work in medicine or global change, Men who sexually assault women should be put in prison. Period.
