Erykah Badu visited Centric to explain the meanings behind some of her most popular lyrics. For years many have speculated over what some of her most poetic, but confusing lyrics meant, but not any longer. A few months ago Erykah explained in only the way she could what millions around the world could never understand, particularly with this lyric from her hit song “On and On”;
“I was born underwater, with three dollars, and six dimes…yea you may laugh, cause you did not do your math…”
“…That means in the womb, with dollars, and six dimes, three hundred and sixty degrees thats a complete circle, I was born complete…”
#SOULdiers, AREN’T YOU RELIEVED TO HEAR IT FROM HER MOUTH!? EVEN THOUGH WE COULD GATHER THAT’S WHAT SHE MEANT, IT IS SO SATISFYING TO UNDERSTAND HER THINKING.
– Thanks For Reading #SOULdiers
