Mo’Nique And Her Husband Explain Bankability Exposing NETFLIX As Frauds

Mo’Nique and her husband Sidney Hicks took to instagram to use bankable facts to prove Mo’Nique’s deservedness of more than $500,000k for her NETFLIX comedy special. Amy Schumer, who NETFLIX reps says made over 10 million dollars for her Netflix special, made that much because she had a hit movie (Snatched) over the summer, and because she sold out Madison Square Garden. Mo’Nique dug up some facts and proved, yet again, NETFLIX lied, low balled her, and racially discriminated against her, with their offer.

Many films starring people of colour often receive low budgets, and a low amount of theaters. Girls Trip received lower theaters, and performed better than its peers, and as Mo’Nique points out, so did Almost Christmas. Amy Schemers SNATCHED film made 45 million dollars domestically in more theaters than Almost Christmas, which made 42 million dollars domestically. How then is Mo’Nique, who was the star of that film, not deserving of more than $500,000? Is it racism? Is it gender bias? What is it?

  1. She is standing on her beliefs and I am with her. Unfortunately, we bash her whenever she says anything, which is irresponsible. It’s not about Hollywood, it’s about being fair, respectful and honest. I have seen a few interviews of others who we say she bashed, and neither has called her a liar. She IS one of the greats, whether she has a movie or sold-out show NOW. Everbody’s high drops down, we’ve seen it up there and we’ve seen it down, but their talent stands. Put her in another movie and watch what happens…she kills every time. She is being lowballed and blackballed in an industry that is full of scandals and secrets that are being exposed, but like the lotus flower, she will rise and rise again and again. Love you Monique!

  2. Shonda Rimes, a black woman got 100 million from Netflix. It isn’t an issue of race or gender. Bankability yes I believe so
