Amara La Negra stopped by Atlanta’s famed dance studio Dance 411 to hold final auditions casting dancers to join her on some major performances, and TheBLACKMedia caught up with her to interview her about what’s next.

Amara is not only the breakout star to Love and Hiphop’s Miami franchise, but she’s a well trained industry vet who’s been singing, dancing, and acting in the Latin market since she was a child. After years of hard work, the chocolate Latin diva made her way to Love and Hiphop and released her first Amerikkkan single; “Insecure” which instantly hit the iTunes charts.

Amara is a proud Afro-Latina who’s building an entertainment empire and taking us along the journey with her.

During the intense dance auditions Amara made sure everyone involved felt comfortable by assuring, during the learning period, to learn the choreography and not worry about her watching; “I’m not judging you guys right now, learn it, make mistakes, its okay, you’ll know when its time to really audition”. Using Steph London’s hit record; “16 Shots” to amp up the dancers, it was a long three hour audition, but in the end Amara made her final cuts and chose her Atlanta dancers.

Being a literal fly on the wall I witnessed first hand what the beginning stages of a super star to be looks like. Amara takes her job seriously, and even though there was a hiccup when I showed up to do press, yet again, no one knew why I was there, once that was settled nothing but professionalism surrounded her team — a clear reflection of Amara herself.

Amara is building what will be a huge dance catalogue of talent, who, at any moment, could be selected to perform at one of the major shows she has coming up: BET Awards, SoulFrito Fest 2018, and more. During the exclusive interview, Amara even mentioned a new show called “Girl Talk” that she often hints to on Instagram, a shoe line, and a collection that will be hitting stores in Walmart and Target this December. If this is not empire building, I don’t know what is!
