Listen: Kelly Rowland — “KELLY” New Single A New Sound So Bossed Up

Kelly Rowland surprised us with a new self titled single “KELLY” dropping the last name and bossing up on the music industry. “KELLY” was released on Thanksgiving giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

2013 was the last time Kelly Rowland released new music with “Talk A Good Game” and it’s lead hit singles “Kisses Down Low” (certified gold) and “Dirty Laundry”. Kelly is known for making music outside industry standards for Women of Colour (R&B). Records like; “Commander” (2013) or the major international single with David Guetta “When Love Takes Over” (2009), are EDM records ahead of its time.

Now, Kelly Rowland has stepped into the Hiphop genre a bit more with this bossy record where she’s almost rapping! Keeping the melodic quirks we’ve come to love from Kelly in her backing vocals, and the deep tones in the lead, its a great record, but a new sound for the R&B songstress for sure.

Kelly’s five year break from music was filled with getting married, having a baby, writing a book, and helping to start a girl group “Junes Diary” managed by legendary dancer/artist manager Frank Gatson, and now she’s back to the music we’ve come to know her for.
